Lawmaker Feared Retaliation if He Voted Against HB477

In an interesting article published today by KSLDS, Representative Kraig Powell (Dist 54, R-Heber City) “says he voted for a controversial bill that amends the state’s open records laws because he feared retaliation from leadership in the state House of Representatives.”

Representative Powell expressed shame for voting in favor of HB477 (Government Records Amendments), called the bill an “abomination”and offered an explanation for his regrettable vote. Read the full story at the KSLDS website.
